THE SECRET SAND CIRCLE
CHRISTINA’S LATEST BOOK TO PUBLISH OCTOBER 2025
The Secret Sand Circle is the intriguing story of Juliet Olivia “Jo” Harkins, a psychologist who specializes in the treatment of survivors ravaged by abuse and trauma. In each chapter, Jo’s layers are revealed in separate timeline sections of “Now” and “Then.”
Now: In this twenty-four-hour timeline of chapters, you are enfolded into Jo’s personal narrative as she is on hiatus from her practice. She has taken up residence in a retreat center to begin authoring a book about five patients she has counseled. She believes telling their stories will help others who have endured similar abuses and debilitating aftereffects.
Then: In this review of Jo’s life and her profession, you witness her evolution as she becomes a preeminent psychologist. You follow her as she meets and begins counseling five patients, who eventually become the subjects of a book she is writing. She learns of their abusive experiences and guides them through effective treatments, including one of her own creation---The Secret Sand Circle.
Jo’s Now and Then Storylines unravel into a devastating jumble of suppressed memories and buried emotions, all of which culminate in two final Now chapters ¾ where she searches for help in the one place she believes she will be safe….

FINDING YOURSELF IN THE STORY
The Power of Therapeutic Writing and Personal Narrative
